Kay Rosen is an American painter who is interested in wordplay and capturing language visually. Her largely text-based work employs formalism, linguistics, and humor to reveal content hidden both within the structural nature of written language and the ways in which it can be generated through manipulated text. With these glasses, the letter “o” is synonymous for both the word and shape of an olive, as an olive is synonymous with a martini.
