Jim Hodges' work often blurs the lines between an objects intended function and its actual meaning. With this blanket, the turquoise blue and tan colors intimate an imaginary landscape. Hodges’ poem, “If There Had Been A Pool It Would Have Reflected Us,” is woven on one side as normal text and in reverse on the other side as way of suggesting the words as reflections in water. The blanket’s measurements equal the exact size of Hodges’ bed.

Each year from 1988 to 2018, the Peter Norton Family commissioned an artist to create an original, multiple-editioned work to celebrate the Christmas season. The edition was sent to a world-wide list of friends, art collectors and art institutions.
