Partners in life and art since 1969, Gilbert and George only ever appear together in public while wearing matching tweed suits. Their practice includes drawing, film, mail art, photographic pictures, and digital prints. Elements of self-portraiture along with appropriated mass-media images that the artists thematize by gender, sexuality, religion, and mortality make up the content of the artist's alternately whimsical and obscene works.
