Burgy uses linguistic abstraction as a way to engage the viewer’s imagination, with briefly stated but powerfully scaled propositions about the world and the way we define ourselves in it. “Burgy’s pages here embrace the spectator within their expansive temporal and spatial frame of reference, while they point to themselves as entities that are simultaneously conceptual and concrete”.
Burgy is an American conceptual artist, author, and teacher. He is Professor Emeritus in the Studio for Interrelated Media at Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
