Channa Horwitz (1932- 2013) was an American contemporary artist recognized for her visually complex, systematic works generally structured around linear progressions using the number eight. Horwitz took simple sets of numbers and applied different operations to them to produce varied convolutions, which she then expressed as graphic marks, spoken words, or gestures.
